What we collect

When you fill out a form on this site (newsletter, prayer request, plan-your-visit, contact), we collect the information you give us. We do not collect anything else automatically.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to you, send you the things you signed up for, and connect you with the right person at Summit. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep contact information as long as you are connected to Summit. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing ministry@SummitUMC.org.

Cookies & analytics

We count visits to this site with Microsoft Azure Application Insights, so we can see which pages are useful and spot misuse. For each page viewed it records the time, the page, the type of device and browser, your IP address (the internet address your device connects from), and an approximate location worked out from it (city or region). It does not record your name, what you type into forms or search boxes, or the questions you ask Church Buddy, and it does not use analytics cookies. The data stays in Summit’s own Microsoft Azure account, is seen only by a few church staff, is never sold or shared, and is deleted after 30 days.

The site also uses a few small cookies that it needs to work: one keeps members signed in, and others protect our forms against misuse. They are not used for tracking or advertising.

Church Buddy

The questions you ask Church Buddy are sent to Google’s Gemini AI service to write the answer. Google may keep them and use them to improve its products, so please don’t put private or personal details in a question. Your name and account are not sent with it.
