Nursery—Sundays, beginning at 10:15am
Every Sunday, our beloved children aged 0-4 can choose to play in our nursery. Our kids also hear a few stories each week that help them explore God's love and begin to see how it meets them in their daily lives.
Children join us for Worship - 10:30am
All children and youth are invited to be a part of our intergenerational worship at 10:30am. While there is no designated Children's Moment as a part of worship, we seek to make worship the kind of experience that captures the imagination of children of all ages.
After our grade school aged kids have participated in worship, including our congregation's shared time of lifting up prayer requests, they are dismissed to an experience that best engages their life stage.
During the summers, our school age children remain in worship throughout the entire service. In this way we have another outlet for living out our intergenerational vision at Summit. Our sermon series during the summer are also specifically designed to engage all ages and life stages in a common experience each can connect to from their own place.
Godly Play (Children are dismissed during service)
For children ages 5 through the 3rd grade, we offer Godly Play. Godly Play is a Montessori-style curriculum which combines active, tactile delving into Bible stories with "wondering questions" and worship elements to help children develop a deep understanding of God which will last a lifetime.
Cedars (Children are dismissed during service)
Our 4th grade - high school age students are able to participate in a group that expands the experience of faith beyond worship and sermons to spirituality applied for daily experiences. Cedars currently features a curriculum of movie and TV clips that give jumping off points for translating and understanding the Bible to kids' current context and exploring how their faith, spirituality, and values play out in culture and their own experiences.
