What to Expect
Summit on 16th United Methodist Church is a spiritual home open to all. We are a diverse group of Christian people who work to break down barriers of exclusion and to welcome, honor and nurture all people. We are diverse in every way imaginable, and we believe that this diversity when paired with authentic community and the humble desire to be faithful to God is the greatest hope for change in our world today!
We invite you to join us Sundays at 10:30 a.m. for an inspiring worship experience!
Our music and the liturgy have a mix of contemporary and traditional elements. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting with room for both reflection and praise. Dress varies anywhere from shorts to suits, and first-time guests are asked not to give an offering. You are simply invited to join us in praise of God.
On the first Sunday of each month we offer communion. You don't have to be a member of this--or any--church to participate. The communion table is open to all.
Children are always welcome to join our intergenerational worship service on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. We offer stations where children can sit and color during the service.
We also have a nursery for children ages 0-4.
For older children, during the school year we have children's church: Godly Play for age 5 through 3rd grade, and Cedars for 4th grade and up. Children will be dismissed to go to Godly Play or Cedars during our worship service.
Note: On the first Sunday of each month, we have an intergenerational communion service. Godly Play and Cedars are not offered, though our nursery is still open!
Summit is accessible to those with mobility disabilities through our back door, connected to the parking lot.
Service animals are welcome.
For those with hearing disabilities, transcripts of the sermon are available. Email John Koon at email@example.com to request a copy.
Summit has been a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network for over ten years. We welcome and celebrate people of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Summit offers a women's, men's, as well as a single-stall gender neutral restroom. You are welcome to use whichever you are most comfortable with.
